Dennis Agnew, Ph.D.

Dr. Dennis Agnew is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering. He received his B.S. degree in Computer Engineering from Jackson State University in 2020 and his M.S. and Ph.D. degrees in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the University of Florida in 2021 and 2024, respectively. Prior to joining FAMU-FSU, he was a Technical Staff member at MIT Lincoln Laboratory, where his work focused on mission-level modeling, simulation, and analysis of communication systems.

His research focuses on the design, analysis, and security of next-generation communication networks, with particular emphasis on:

  1. Next-Generation Communication Networks
Tactical, wireless, satellite, UAV, autonomous, and multi-domain communication networks.

  2. Programmable & Intelligent Network Systems
Software-defined networking (SDN), network virtualization, network orchestration, and AI/ML-driven network management and optimization.

  3. Cybersecurity & Network Resilience
Cybersecurity, resilient network architectures, AI/ML-driven cyberattack detection and mitigation, and network modeling, simulation, and performance analysis.

WE ARE HIRING!

I am seeking highly motivated undergraduate and graduate students to join my research group. Students with interests in computer networks, wireless communications, software-defined networking, cybersecurity, modeling and simulation, and AI/ML for networked systems are encouraged to apply. Research opportunities include work on tactical, aerial, satellite, and other next-generation communication networks.
